Screw pump discharges oil by cavity that is the closed chambers formed between rotor and stator. When the rotor rotates, the closed cavity moves from the suction end to the discharge end along the axial direction, and the closed cavity disappears at the discharge end. Then the crude oil in the cavity is squeezed evenly from the suction end to the discharge end. In addition, a new low pressure cavity is formed at the suction end to suck in the crude oil. In this way, the closed cavity is continuously formed, migrated and disappeared, and the crude oil is continuously filled, squeezed and discharged, thus the crude oil in the well is continuously inhaled and lifted to the surface through the tubing. The screw pump system is mainly composed of driving device, wellhead device, down-hole screw pump and tubing. According to the different driving modes, screw pump oil production system can be divided into three types: down-hole(electric submersible), hydraulic and ground driven (mobile). At present, the ground driven (motorized) screw pump is the most widely used.
Advantages of screw pump for oil production
1.Screw pump is also a positive displacement pump with unique advantages that the liquid flows uniformly along the axial direction of infusion components in low speed with lower and one-time costs.
2. The viscosity range of liquid is large, and it is suitable for many kinds. It can be used to extract high waxy crude oil or thick oil well.
3.Screw pump from a few cubic meters or to a high-yield of several hundred cubic meters can be smoothly lifted to adapt to the output. It can be used for high-lift transportation.
4.No gas lock occurs when handling high gas-liquid ratio. With strong sand carrying capacity, it can also extract sand containing crude oil. The bushing material has tolerance for solid debris,such as sand.
5.The pump efficiency is relatively high. There is no complex flow channel and valve with small volume and few moving parts. The disturbance made by oil flow is very small and the hydraulic loss is also low, so the system efficiency is 60% or more.
6 .The control system and the operation are simple. With flexible design, the flow can be adjusted just through changing the speed of the driving device.
7.The number of quick-wear part reduces so that it is convenient for maintenance with lower operating costs.
